NATURAL GAS PURIFICATION & LIQUEFACTION TREATMENT
Feed Gas Purification Package
Before gas can be liquefied, it must meet strict technical indicators. Evertech’s purification system prepares natural gas for pipeline or LNG service by removing acid gases, sulfur, water, nitrogen, heavy hydrocarbons and mercury.

Decarbonization
Removes CO₂ to meet natural gas technical indicators and downstream purification requirements, using NHD or MDEA processes or dry adsorption.

Desulfurization
Removes H₂S and sulfur compounds with iron wet desulfurization, MEDA desulfurization or dry adsorption technology.

Dehydrocarbon
Strips light hydrocarbons to recover valuable liquids and ensure gas meets specifications before entering the pipeline or liquefaction section.

Denitrification
Treats high-nitrogen gas that cannot be sent directly to the pipeline. Nitrogen removal raises the calorific value to required levels.

Dehydration
Removes water using triethylene glycol (TEG) dehydration or molecular sieve adsorption to prevent ice and hydrate formation.

Demercuration
Eliminates trace mercury to protect aluminum heat exchangers and downstream equipment.
NATURAL GAS – BOG HELIUM EXTRACTION
BOG Helium Recovery Systems
LNG boil-off gas (BOG) typically contains 1–2% helium. Evertech’s helium extraction package turns this trace component into a high-value product while improving liquefaction performance.
Key Process Steps:

Cryogenic Separation & Purification
Concentrates methane and thick helium (crude helium) using cryogenic separation, re-liquefies methane, and reduces condensation gas enrichment in the LNG unit—boosting liquefaction capacity.

Dehydrogenation
Removes hydrogen from crude helium via catalytic oxidation or low-temperature adsorption, lowering hydrogen content to about 1 ppm.

Dehydration
Removes residual water and water formed during dehydrogenation using molecular sieve adsorption, achieving water content around 1 ppm.

Denitrification
Removes oxygen and nitrogen with low-temperature adsorption to produce high-purity helium that meets technical specifications.

Typical Process of a Natural Gas Liquefaction Unit

Filtration & Pressure Regulation
Raw gas is filtered and pressure-regulated; solids, liquids and condensates are removed.

Deacidification (CO₂ Removal)
CO₂ and acid gases are absorbed and stripped, preventing freezing in cryogenic exchangers.

Dehydration
TEG or molecular sieve units remove water to ultra-low levels.

Mercury Removal
Activated carbon beds capture trace mercury to protect equipment.

Liquefaction & Refrigeration Cycle
Gas passes through the cold box where mixed refrigerant or nitrogen cycles cool it to LNG temperature.

LNG Storage & BOG Handling
LNG is stored in cryogenic tanks, with boil-off gas recycled into the process or used as fuel.
